FAQs

Why are there limited service options for new clients?

I’ve intentionally reduced the service options for new clients to streamline the process, ensure efficiency, and better meet the needs of those who are serious about their healthy hair journey. This approach allows me to focus on attracting and serving clients who value long-term hair health and are ready to commit to maintaining it.

Additionally, services like haircuts and treatments, which are essential for healthy hair, should never be optional. By offering two carefully curated options, I can set new clients up for success and provide them with a strong foundation for their hair care journey.

How do you determine what treatments my hair needs?

Hair care is a top priority in my studio, which is why I stock a variety of treatments to meet each client's unique needs. Many clients know they need treatment but aren’t always sure which one to choose from given the option. To make this easier, I assess the condition of your hair and select the treatment that will give you the best results.

Depending on your hair’s needs, this may include hair masks, protein treatments, vitamin restore, oil-enriched conditioners, reconstructors, scalp tonics, Olaplex, or more. Each treatment is tailored to help nourish and maintain your hair’s health.

Is a deposit required to book an appointment?

Yes, deposits are required for all services scheduled online. The deposit ensures your appointment is secured and is deducted from the total service cost. Please note that consultations must be paid in full at the time of booking and are non-refundable.

Can you give me the exact color that I am desiring?

Short answer: No.

No hair professional or colorist should ever promise exact color results. Hair color is influenced by numerous factors, including the underlying tones in your natural hair, previous or existing color, how your hair responds to color or lightener, and whether the color was shown on a wig or weave.

As a professional colorist, my priority is to preserve the integrity and health of your hair while achieving a result that suits your unique hair structure. This is why color consultations are essential in setting realistic expectations and ensuring a successful outcome.

Why do I have to do a color consultation?

Color consultations are essential for achieving the best possible results, especially for new clients. Since I may not be familiar with your hair, the consultation allows me to assess its current condition and create a personalized plan.

During the consultation, we’ll discuss your hair history, evaluate the health of your hair to ensure it's ready for color, and go over the maintenance required to maintain the color both at home and in the salon. It also gives you a clear understanding of what to expect throughout the process, including pricing.

Why am I considered a new clientafter 16 weeks if I have been serviced by Xin MARIE in the past?

If it’s been longer than 16 weeks since your last appointment, you’ll be considered a new client. The longer the time between appointments, the less I can stay current with your hair’s progress and specific needs. To ensure the best results moving forward, you'll need to book a New Client service appointment so I can reassess your hair and create a personalized plan.

Can you assist me with hair loss?

I am not a hair loss specialist. If you are experiencing hair loss or have been diagnosed with any form of alopecia, I recommend consulting with a dermatologist or trichologist, who specializes in hair loss. They can provide a proper diagnosis and treatment plan tailored to your needs.
